Steam Engine V2 60954 derailed near Mirvale Chemical Works on January 4, 1962.
The figures on the engine were Mirvale workers taking advantage of this unique prop for an impromptu photo shoot.
The photograph was taken by Ronald Ellis, a keen amateur photographer, who was employed as an engineer at the chemical works at the time of the incident.
